TAY BASS
Intersectionality, Joy, & Conscious-Conversation.
Hi, I’m Tay :) I’m always looking for work that captures the cathartic joy I felt growing up listening to my grandma tell stories. I want to laugh until my stomach hurts, grieve openly, take up space, and make space while engaging audiences in a big ol’ conscious conversation.
As an actor, my work has been seen off-broadway, national tour, regionally, on TV, indie shorts, and a few animation voiceovers. I’ve developed new works at Soho Rep, New Light Theater Project, The Tank, The Acting Company and Williamstown Theatre Festival.
In 2024, my experimental documentary short The P Word was developed by a grant through the Brown Arts Institute, where it also premiered. Later that year, I joined the documentary feature Thank You For Thinking Of Me as an impact lead & AP, coordinating with national partners to amplify Deyanna Davis’s story of survival, motherhood, and community power.
When I’m not doing all that, you can catch me in the streets, JK—but sometimes I do leave my home for treats to escape existential dread.
